Distraction

In this video, Adam Parker talks about how sometimes things happen that are beyond our control. It could be some crazy events in the world or if a family member or pet gets sick, those events are beyond our control. There are things we can do to cope with by distracting ourselves. It doesn’t mean to not do our homework but it means it’s good to take a break or do something else if we are very stressed out. This is a great way to manage our emotions. Mr. Parker finishes up the video with a great song about ways we can distract ourselves and better control our emotions.

Self Talk

In this video, Adam Parker talks about why listening to our inner coach can be a powerful tool to grow our emotional intelligence. Sometimes we have positive or negative voices in our heads. It’s important to listen to our kind and positive thoughts and call it our inner coach. The critics are the negatives voices that put us down and say mean words. By paying attention to our inner coach it can help us be more positive and succeed. Mr. Parker finishes up with a song to help us remember to pay attention to the positive thoughts and not listen to our inner critic.

Yoga

In this video, Adam Parker talks about why yoga can be a great coping skill. If you’ve never tried yoga or don’t know what it is, don’t worry Mr. Parker explains what it is and it’s super easy for anyone to try. He walks us through some awesome yoga poses that will help us develop the skills to deal with our emotions. He finishes with a great song we can sing along with at home about yoga.

Journaling

In this video, Adam Parker discusses his next topic of social-emotional skills. He explains why journaling is a really important tool to process the feelings we feel every day. Writing about our feelings can be great to remind us of the situations in our life and how they made us feel. Sometimes the same thing can make us feel different emotions. For instance, Mr. Parker talks about how if he eats candy it makes him feel happy, but that if eats too much candy he will feel sick. He finishes up by singing a song about writing in his journal.

Deep Breathing

In this video, Adam Parker explains how important deep breathing is and because it’s spirit Friday he wears a crazy hat. If you have a crazy hat at home make sure to wear it while you watch this video. In this emotional lesson, Mr. Parker talks about how deep breaths and thinking about our breathing can get rid of our anger and frustration and help us get focused. Mr. Parker walks us through how to breathe and what to focus on when we are doing these exercises. When we breathe out we end up letting out all of our negative thoughts. He finishes up with a song to help us remember these great breathing exercises.

Taking a Break

In this video, Adam Parker explains why he’s excited and thankful for the beautiful weather and how excited that he has over 1000 subscribers on his channel. Mr. Parker discusses why taking a break is so important if you having a difficult time. Taking a break seems really simple, but actually it’s a really important skill to use to calm down and make sure you don’t lose your temper. Movement

Mr. Parker talks about movement and about why it’s an amazing way to cope with our emotions.
