I-Message
In this video, Adam Parker talks about iMessages and not the ones on your phone. An iMessage is a way we can communicate our feelings and remain calm during a stressful situation. It communicates how you are feeling to another person in a calm and respectful manner. Sometimes people say things that are hurtful without realizing they are hurting your feelings. By using an expression like ‘I feel’, it will help get your point across. The opposite of an iMessage is when you express your feelings with anger or with being physical like pushing another kid. Some kids also retreat into themselves and don’t say anything. This is a bad strategy because the other kid may not realize they hurt your feelings. Use these iMessages to express how you feel and build better relationships with your friends and family.

Expressing Your Feelings
In this video, Adam Parker explains why expressing your feelings is very important for having good mental health. Sometimes it can be hard to deal with our emotions and we want to bottle them inside. But this way of thinking can do more harm than good. Mr. Parker tells us about some techniques we can use to express your feelings like taking a deep breath or walking away. He also explains how there are different ways to express your feelings and finding the best ways to do this in a calm way with a matching body language can help the people we care about to understand our feelings.

Consequences
In this video, Adam Parker explains the consequences of our actions. It’s important to always remember that either for good or bad, our actions will always affect others. Consequences can cause bad things like when kids don’t eat their vegetables and end up not getting dessert. But consequences can also be really good like when we are kind to our friends or when we listen to our parents and follow what we want them to do, it brings joy to people we love. Mr. Parker also explains how if we don’t pay attention to our words the consequences can be that we hurt others. He finishes up by singing a song that will help us remember why the consequences are important.

Calming Down When Pushed
In this video, Adam Parker explains how it’s really a great idea to use techniques like calming down when you are in a stressful situation. Sometimes kids can push each other or say mean things, even though our first instinct might be to become angry or lose our temper. That’s understandable when someone is mean to you. But Mr. Parker explains why this isn’t the best way to solve this situation. Staying calm is hard but it can really improve your life when you’re faced with a challenging situation. Using Kind Words
In this video, Adam Parker explains how important the words we use are. Words are extremely powerful and they can affect the people around us in big ways. By using kind words we can overcome our anger and control our feelings. Bad or mean words can really hurt the feelings of our friends and family which we don’t want to do. Mr. Parker explains why it’s important to recognize what you’re feeling and name that feeling. Then you have to think about how we want to express that feeling. Mr. Parker talks about why it’s important to treat others how we want to be treated. He finishes up with a song to help us remember these skills.

Handling Criticism
In this video, Adam Parker explains why it’s important to learn how to handle criticism. This is a hard skill to learn and even a lot of adults are bad at it. Handling criticism can mean we listen to other people’s feedback, we accept their concerns, and we at least show that we are respectfully listening. Often teachers or parents give criticism about something we can improve on. This is hard and sometimes it can hurt our feelings. But we have to remember that usually if it’s from someone important in our life, they are giving this feedback to help us improve. Mr. Parker sings a song that helps us understand how criticism is important and to not get upset when people give us some feedback.
